HOLMES: Garnet Murray
With heavy hearts, we are saddened to announce the passing of Garnet Holmes, at home with his family, on Tuesday, November 23, 2021, in his 78th year. Beloved husband to Shirley (Tomlinson) and loving father to Celestine, Corinne (Jeff) and Martina. Predeceased by his father, Gordon & brother Bill. Loving son to Ruth Holmes and loving brother to Lloyd and Bonnie (Bruce) Askey. Grandfather to JD, Vanessa (David), Evelyn, Sean, Joshua and Declan. For most of his working life, Garnet was a teacher and spent the majority of his career at
Centre Hastings Secondary School. He was very active in the Masonic Lodge and Eastern Star, and will be greatly missed by his Brethren and Sisters. Cremation has taken place. Funeral service will be held at the McConnell Funeral Home, Tweed on Friday, December 3, 2021 at 11:30 a.m. Masonic Service, Friday at 11:00 a.m. Interment Cooper Cemetery at a later date.

PHILLIPS:  Natasha Samantha
At her home, on Sunday, November 21, 2021.  Natasha Phillips, of Havelock, formerly of Gilmour, in her 33rd year.  Daughter of Wayne and Michelle (Trumble) Phillips, Gilmour.  Wife of Adam Minnie.  Mother of Cameron and Landyn.  Granddaughter of Gladys Trumble and the late Durward Trumble, and Ellis and Winnifred Phillips.  Sister of Ryan Trumble and Alisha Phillips.  Funeral service in
Mount Zion Pentecostal Church, Gilmour, on Saturday, November 27 at 11:00 a.m.  Interment Gilmour Cemetery.  Due to COVID restrictions, seating inside the church will be limited to family members only.  The service may be viewed online at Mount Zion Retreat Centre Facebook page or listened to on the Church broadcast channel 107.7 FM.  All are welcome to follow in procession to the cemetery for the committal.  Donations made for Cameron and Landyn would be appreciated.  Arrangements, McConnell Funeral Home, Madoc.

At her home in Marmora, on Thursday November 18, 2021.  Reta (
Lake), in her 91st year.  Daughter of the late Wesley and Kathleen (Cassibo) Lake.  Wife of the late Frederick Dayton.  Mother of Armintha & Warren Chard, Cordova Mines; Mary & Charles Hutchings, Marmora; Sheila & Bill Dougherty, Trenton and the late Charly & Raymond.  Sister of Herb Lake, Marmora and the late Eddie, Roy, Allan, John, Doug, Marie Empey, Shirley Gorbet, Berla Shorts & Armintha Shorts. Grandmother of Jennifer, Rosalie, Ivan, Mellissa, Amanda, Steve, Kevin and the late Rodney.  Loved by her 21 great grandchildren and 13 great great grandchildren.  The family will receive friends at the McConnell Funeral Home, Marmora from 10:00 a.m. Tuesday November 23, 2021 where funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m.  Interment Marmora Common Cemetery.  Donations: Alzheimer Society.

DILLABOUGH-CHARTRAND:  Joshua Nathaniel Thomas
At Quinte Health Care Belleville General, on Tuesday, November 16, 2021.  Joshua Dillabough-Chartrand, of Belleville, in his 41st year.  Son of Sheila (Dillabough) and Gerry Chartrand.  Grandson of Don and Luella Dillabough and Franscoise St-Pierre, all deceased.  Brother of Benoit Chartrand and Jessica DeWal (Cody).  Uncle of Jolene Luella and Flinton Allan DeWal.  Loved by many special friends, uncles, aunts and cousins.  Although Joshua lived with cerebral palsy and a wheelchair, this did not limit his vast intelligence.  He was a published author and has written over a hundred short stories and poems.  He also loved to paint and draw, play wrestling video games and cheer for his favourite sports teams.  He truly enjoyed telephoning his cousin Connie in the
Seattle area and debating American politics, as well as, nightly calls to family here.  Joshua never wavered in his trust in God for this life and eternity.  The song ‘Well Done My Good and Faithful One’ would be a tribute to him. The Afters - Well Done
The family would like to thank the Emergency and ICU staff at BGH for their excellent care, and the staff at
Cheshire House for making a big house into a family home.  Words cannot say how much you are appreciated.  Cremation has taken place.  A Memorial Service will take place at McConnell Funeral Home, Madoc, on Tuesday, November 23 at 1:00 p.m.  Joshua will be laid to rest between his Nana and Papa Dillabough  following the memorial service, around 3:30-4 p.m., at Hermon Cemetery, McArthur’s Mills.  Donations to John Street, Cheshire Home, Belleville, where Joshua resided for the last ten years, would be appreciated.

At Quinte Health Care Belleville General, on Saturday, November 13, 2021.  Eilene (O’Rourke) DeClair, of Queensborough, in her 88th year.  Wife of the late Donald DeClair.  Mother of Debbie Bleackley (Bob), Dan (Kelly), Kathleen Roeper (Peter), Randy (Janice) and Jeffrey (Tammy).  Loved by 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.  Sister of Frank O’Rourke and Marlene VanRooyen (Des).  Sister-in-law of Ellis DeClair.  The family will receive friends at the McConnell Funeral Home, Madoc, from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, November 16.  A private funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 17 with a public interment in
Greenwood Cemetery, Queensborough at 2:00 p.m.  Donations to St. Andrew’s United Church, Queensborough, would be appreciated.
